Mavenir licensed SPIRIT DSP Mobile Voice & Video Engine to unleash the power of its VoLTE products

February 26, 2015 – SPIRIT DSP, the world's #1 voice and video over IP engines provider serving more than 1 billion users in 100+ countries, announced today that Mavenir Systems (NYSE: MVNR), a US leading provider of software-based networking solutions, has licensed SPIRIT’s TeamSpirit® Voice & Video Engine Mobile. Mavenir’s IMS software products are now live with 200+ service provider customers on three continents.

TeamSpirit Voice® & Video Engine Mobile will empower Mavenir's client software for Android and iOS handsets and tablets. The software allows operators to differentiate their Voice over LTE (VoLTE), Voice over WiFi (VoWiFi) and Rich Communication Suite (RCS) services against OTT players like Skype, Viber, WeChat, LINE, KakaoTalk, Tango, etc. Mavenir has selected TeamSpirit Voice® & Video Engine Mobile after a thorough testing and competitive analysis of the media processing products available on the market including open source projects. TeamSpirit Voice® & Video Engine Mobile will replace Google WebRTC software that was used by Mavenir prior to its decision to switch to SPIRIT.

'We were looking for a sophisticated product, upon which we could build a service platform to offer our customers a superior communication experience quickly,' said Terry McCabe, Mavenir's Chief Technology Officer. 'The tests that we have conducted indicated that TeamSpirit Voice & Video Mobile is the best choice, meeting all our requirements and providing prompt time-to-market.'

”Operators and service providers all over the world are responding to OTT challenge by developing their own voice and video over LTE products and services in order to keep pace with services from mobile messengers, Apple, Google and Microsoft who are eating telcos profits,’ says Andrew Sviridenko, SPIRIT DSP’s Chairman. “SPIRIT is proud to serve Mavenir and its service provider clients to enable voice and video quality advantage on low density networks in developing countries.’

SPIRIT DSP representatives will be available for meeting at stand 6D60 in Hall 6 of Mobile World Congress 2015.
